Pattern Bars & Melts

Pattern bars and melts are two of my favorite techniques in fused glass.  I love the random nature of the process.  You really never know what you are going to get.  All you can do is choose the colors and see what happens.

As described in the link below, creating a pattern bar plate is a multi-step process that involves several firings to create the final design.  The designs are usually very structured and graphic in nature.  Pot melts or screen melts, on the other hand, are less structured and involve fewer steps.  However, both process require pieces to be coldworked to get the final smooth finish.
