Turquoise Tortoise Gallery Has Closed

12/12/19

I'm sorry to report that the Turquoise Tortoise Gallery and Lanning Gallery in Sedona have closed.  As a result, I no longer have representation in Arizona.  Most of my inventory has been relocated to Canyon Road Contemporary Gallery in Santa Fe.  Thanks to everyone who supported TT and Lanning these past few years.

Summer Shows - Sedona and Santa Fe

June 1 and June 8, 2018

I'm happy to announce that I will be featured in two shows this summer at my galleries in Sedona, Arizona and Santa Fe, New Mexico.  The first show will be begin June 1, 2018, at the Turquoise Tortoise Gallery in Sedona, as part of the First Friday Art Crawl from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  An open reception will be held and I will present an Artist Talk at around 6:00 p.m.    Several new pieces will be featured.  My second show will begin June 15 at Canyon Road Contemporary Art Gallery in Santa Fe.  CRCA has moved to a new location at 622 Canyon Road in Santa Fe and has more than doubled is space, featuring old and new artist alike.  I will be on hand for the artists' reception on Friday, June 15, beginning at 5:00 p.m.   Hope to see you there!

Turquoise Tortoise Gallery - Sedona

I am thrilled to announce that I am now represented by Turquoise Tortoise Gallery in Sedona, Arizona.  Turquoise Tortoise is one of three galleries owned by Thomas and Jennifer Bryant Nagel, who recently purchased the galleries in August 2017 from Sedona’s Grand Dame of Art, Peggy Lanning.  With an appreciation for the foundation laid for them, the Bryant Nagels are dedicated to continuing the gallery’s 46 year legacy as they usher in the years and decades to come.  Located at Hozho Center, 431 State Route 179, A-3, Sedona, Arizona 86336,  the gallery is situated in the beautiful landscape of Sedona amid the majestic red rocks near Oak Creek.  Open M-F, 10-; Sunday 11-5.  Phone:  928.282.2262.   Stop by or visit their website at http://www.turquoisetortoisegallery.com

2017 Fall Show

I'm please to announce that I will be the featured artist for an upcoming show at Canyon Road Contemporary Art Gallery in Santa Fe.  Several new pieces will be featured, including Language of Trees, a new concept I recently developed.  The show will begin September 8 and run through the end of the month.  I will be on hand for the artists' reception on Friday, September 8, beginning at 5:00 p.m.   Hope to see you there!

Canyon Road Spring Art Festival

May 12 - 13, Friday and Saturday

I am pleased to be part of the Canyon Road Spring Art Festival along with fellow artists Kathy Beekman, Dena Tollefson, Bonnie Teitelbaum, Kari Rives, and Doug Gillis.  I will be on hand demonstrating my fused glass technique, creating a piece from scratch.  

 

It’s a great time of the year when the Canyon Road Art District embarks on its high season! Art enthusiasts get a first peek at this year’s offerings in a wide variety of art styles! From contemporary to Western, and absolutely everything in between.

 

On Friday evening, galleries will celebrate their talented artists by showcasing every imaginable genre of art! Saturday promises to be an event not to be missed. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, and the rare opportunity to watch top-tier artists create. Opportunities will be there for enthusiasts to request live commissions, to ask questions and to simply be wowed by the wealth of talent and exuberance this event brings as artists convene en masse onto our venerable art district.

Bank of the West Commission

March 2016

I am thrilled to announce that Bank of the West recently commissioned a large wall sculpture for their new Wealth Management division in their downtown Albuquerque headquarters.  The piece, titled "Into the West," was installed on March 10 and is displayed in their large conference room.   This is the first mult-level piece that I have made and I am really happy with the way it turned out.

Canyon Road Paint and Sculpt Out

I am thrilled to be part of the 8th Annual Canyon Road Paint and Sculpt Out taking place this year on Saturday, October 17, from 10-4 p.m. on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Artists from galleries all along Canyon Road will be painting and talking about their art.   I will be there demonstrating my fused glass technique.  Last year's event was a tremendous success and I expect an even greater turn out this year!  Hope you can make it.  For more information, viist the Canyon Road website.

Moving On

July 2015

It is with regret that I have decided to leave Sumner & Dene Gallery in Albuquerque and Act I Gallery in Taos.  With limited time on my hands, I have decided to concentrate my efforts on my partnership with Canyon Road Contemporary in Santa Fe.   Thanks to Roy at Sumner & Dene for the opportunity to show in his gallery these last few years, and to Anita, Deanna and Gary at Act 1.  I believe this is the best direction for me so that I grow as an artist and I look forward to the future and new designs in glass.

Rio Grande Art's & Crafts Festival

I'm excited to be part of the Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival this year at the Expo NM Fairgrounds.  One of my pieces, "Field of Dreams" was featured on the postcards and billboards advertising the event.  The show will take place over Thanksgiving Weekend at the Manuel Lujan Building at the New Mexico State Fairgrounds.  Hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Admission is $7.00, but you can get a $1 off coupon on their website www.riograndefestivals.com.

Pieces of the Whole: A Mosaic Show

I'm pleased to be part of "Pieces of the Whole: A Mosaic Show" at the Albuquerque Open Space Visitor Center Gallery.   The show features many talented mosaic artists and explores the concepts of Land Ethics, the Web of Life and the Bosque.  The Open Space Visitors Center is located at 6500 Coors NW.  The opening reception is Saturday, July 5 from 3-5 p.m. and the show runs  July 5 through September 1, 2014.

Glass Alliance – New Mexico is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a regional chapter of Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass. Glass Alliance – New Mexico  brings together New Mexico artists, galleries and collectors, and informs collectors, artists, gallery owners and  the general public by encouraging and supporting art glass events.  Glass Alliance-New Mexico organizes programs including regular visits to artist studios, tours of galleries, viewing private collections, and attending lectures and demonstrations by master artists.  In addition, it supports New Mexico artists ranging from well-known masters to emerging new talents. I am proud to have participated in creating, hanging, and grouting the mosaic murals sponsored by PATHWAYS Wildlife Corridors of New Mexico.  Pathways  is a  grass roots collective, started in 2006,  which has the vision to see that all animals who need to move between New Mexico’s mountains may do so freely and without harm.
